Description

Our client is a UK-based craft gin company that has grown into the UK’s number one gin club. They operate a subscription-based service delivering exclusive craft gins, mixers, and snacks to tens of thousands of members across the country. In addition to their subscription business, they run an online store selling a range of gins and gin-related products. The fulfilment activity is managed within their larger subscription business distribution centre.

They are now seeking a Supply Chain Manager, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain for our online store, from inbound logistics and 3PL relationship management to stock control and dispatch performance. You’ll work with our warehouse and carrier partners to ensure efficient, accurate, and on-time order fulfilment – all while keeping costs and service levels in check.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, hands-on environment, is passionate about improvement, and isn’t afraid to challenge and negotiate when needed.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

Inbound Logistics & Goods-In
  • Coordinate with procurement and buying teams to manage inbound product delivery to the Distribution Centre (DC)
  • Track shipments and ensure timely arrivals from suppliers (local and international)
  • Troubleshoot delays and discrepancies with suppliers and 3PL partners
3PL & Carrier Management
  • Own the relationship with our third-party logistics (3PL) provider and delivery partners
  • Negotiate and document service level agreements (SLAs) and fulfilment costs
  • Ensure 3PL is meeting KPIs on pick accuracy, dispatch times, and order completeness
Order Fulfilment & Dispatch
  • Oversee daily order processing and dispatch, ensuring orders are fulfilled on time, in full (OTIF)
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the dispatch process
  • Support seasonal or promotional projects requiring special fulfilment coordination
Inventory & Stock Control
  • Monitor and manage inventory accuracy across all SKUs
  • Minimise stock loss through robust processes and auditing
  • Improve visibility of stock movement and availability across the business
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyse fulfilment and inventory data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Report performance and actionable insights to senior management
  • Own invoicing accuracy between orders dispatched and 3PL/carrier billing
Process Improvement
  • Identify inefficiencies and propose streamlined solutions across logistics and fulfilment
  • Implement structure and visibility in SKU launches, stock movements, and partner coordination
  • Bring ideas to improve the overall stock picture and operational rhythm

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years in a similar supply chain, logistics, or operations role
  • Experience in B2C eCommerce fulfilment, ideally in a retail or FMCG environment
  • Proven success in managing 3PL and carrier relationships in high-volume settings
  • Familiarity with operational KPIs and SLA management (e.g., order timeliness, damages, lost parcels)
  • Experience with Excel, data analysis, and reporting tools
  • Experience with alcohol duty, bonded goods and relevant HMRC compliance is a strong bonus
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail, especially regarding inventory accuracy and invoicing
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, start-up style environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator – able to manage multiple stakeholders with confidence
  • Comfortable working independently, owning your area, and driving projects to completion
