Our UK based client is an innovative result-driven lead gen agency, they have success getting potential customers to engage with brands, leading to more leads, conversions and ultimately increased sales. They are trusted by clients who expect success with their digital marketing and lead generation. They are looking for an SEO Manager to join their team. The SEO Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing SEO strategies for agency clients. This includes technical SEO audits, on-page and off-page SEO strategies, content planning, and performance reporting. The role will involve collaboration with internal content teams and external link-building partners to drive organic growth. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEO professional to take ownership of SEO strategies and drive performance across multiple client accounts.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee a robust SEO content strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-value opportunities
  • Collaborate with content writers to optimise content for SEO, ensuring proper metadata, structure, and internal linking
  • Identify underperforming pages and provide recommendations to the content team for improvement
  • Develop and oversee the off-page SEO strategy
  • Work closely with an external link-building team to approve suggested link placements
  • Create monthly target URL and anchor text plans for link-building campaigns
  • Perform regular technical SEO audits to identify and resolve issues
  • Ensure best practices in site structure, page speed optimisation, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, and crawlability
  • Use Ahrefs to conduct technical audits and maintain a site health score of 90-95
  • Stay updated with Google algorithm updates and adjust strategies proactively
  • Optimise title tags, meta descriptions, headers, and images for improved on-page SEO
  • Develop and implement an internal linking strategy to enhance site structure and rankings
  • Continuously optimise existing content and landing pages for better visibility and engagement
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of SEO & Account Management Team
  • Track SEO KPIs such as rankings, organic traffic, engagement, and conversions
  • Generate clear client reports detailing SEO efforts and their impact on performance
  • Utilise tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog to analyse and guide SEO strategies
  • Manage agency clients’ SEO performance and liaise with the internal team effectively
  • Implement SEO strategies using available resources, including in-house writers and external link-building teams
  • Monitor client performance, flagging underperforming accounts for improvement and highlighting high-performing accounts for reporting

Skills & Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of SEO experience (agency or in-house)
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page and off-page SEO strategies
  • Proven track record of increasing organic traffic and lead generation
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Screaming Frog
  • Ability to develop and implement data-driven SEO strategies
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various teams
  • Ability to stay up to date with SEO best practices and Google algorithm updates
