Our client is a UK-based recruitment agency specialising in culture-led hiring across legal and wider professional services. Known for their transparent, values-driven approach, they partner with growth-focused companies and law firms to help them build strong, sustainable teams. They are looking to hire a Professional Services Recruiter – Legal Experience (UK Desk) to join their remote team from South Africa. This is a full-cycle recruitment role managing an already warm UK legal/professional services desk, focused on building strong client relationships, sourcing top-tier legal and professional candidates, and delivering consistent placements. The ideal candidate is an experienced recruiter with at least 3 years’ professional services recruitment experience (legal strongly preferred), a strong understanding of UK commercial culture, and proven success working with UK clients. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a busy, high-potential desk with warm client relationships, clear billing targets, and the chance to grow your professional services portfolio.
This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established UK legal/professional services desk
- Conduct UK-focused business development and client relationship management
- Take detailed job briefs and advise clients on hiring strategies and UK market conditions
- Source, interview, and shortlist candidates using UK-specific terminology and legal knowledge
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job briefing through to offer negotiation and placement
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure compliance with data security standards
- Deliver consistent client satisfaction and achieve repeat business
- Keep up to date with UK professional services market trends and legislation
- Prepare candidates for interviews and guide them through the hiring process
- Ensure strong candidate experiences with a focus on cultural and technical fit
- Hit monthly billing targets and grow desk revenue
- Build long-term relationships with hiring managers and professional services talent
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ recruitment experience in professional services (legal sector preferred)
- Proven experience working with UK clients and candidates
- Strong knowledge of UK business culture, professional services, and legal terminology
- Background in HR, Law, Business, or similar (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to use UK-specific terminology
- Able to manage the recruitment process independently from brief to placement
- Commercially astute with a relationship-led approach
- Tech-savvy with experience using CRMs and digital sourcing tools
- Self-motivated and comfortable working UK hours remotely
- Reliable laptop and high-speed internet connection
