Executive Assistant

Our client is a UK-based, mission-driven organisation committed to ensuring companies treat people with respect and dignity. Working at the intersection of business and human rights, the organisation supports global companies to embed ethical practices into their operations and decision-making. They are hiring a Remote Executive Assistant to directly support the organisation’s Founder. This role is central to the smooth functioning of the organisation and will cover diary and inbox management, coordination of meetings and projects, administrative research, and internal process support. Candidates with an interest in communications and outreach may also support content creation and social media activity.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, day-to-day administrative support to the Founder
  • Manage the Founder’s inbox and calendar, flagging key priorities and handling scheduling
  • Prepare for meetings by organising agendas, compiling documents, and capturing key actions
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements, including itineraries and logistics
  • Draft, format, and edit presentations, reports, and briefing documents in Word, PowerPoint, and PDF
  • Conduct research on internal topics such as team retreats, HR policies, and sponsorship options
  • Research and implement tools to improve efficiency and organisation-wide effectiveness
  • Assist with contracting and basic finance support using Excel
  • Track internal and client project timelines, following up on open tasks and deadlines
  • Create and maintain internal systems and processes to support smooth operations
  • Act as a thought partner to help prioritise work, reduce inefficiencies, and anticipate needs
  • Create visual content for social media in Canva, based on guidance from the team
  • Draft, schedule, and post content to platforms like LinkedIn
  • Support the organisation’s overall communications plan and online engagement strategy
  • Occasionally assist with personal or family-related research tasks (e.g. travel, logistics, transport options)

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, or senior-level admin role
  • Experience supporting C-suite or senior leadership remotely
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High level of discretion, reliability, and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and task tools (e.g. Trello, Asana, Notion)
  • Able to manage competing priorities calmly and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on open tasks
  • Comfortable conducting independent research and summarising findings clearly
  • Tech-savvy and confident using cloud platforms and automation tools
  • Interest or experience in social media content creation and communication tools (Canva, Buffer, etc.) is a bonus
  • Experience in values-driven or purpose-led organisations is an advantage
  • Friendly, proactive, and committed to supporting meaningful, high-quality work
