They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Rep to join their dynamic IT team. You will play a critical role in providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clients’ IT systems and infrastructure.
This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades, repairs, and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings in various systems and applications.
- Respond to help desk tickets and service requests in a timely manner, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity and security measures are in place.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
- Assist in the implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on IT-related topics and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience working as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.
- Familiarity with network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are a plus.
