Our client is a global leader in Quantitative Investment Executive Search, specialising in placing top-tier talent in roles such as Quantitative Researchers (QRs), Equity Analysts, Execution Traders, and Macro Strategists. They are seeking a highly skilled Headhunter/Researcher to support their recruitment efforts by sourcing high-calibre candidates, conducting market mapping, and enhancing their recruitment pipeline. The ideal candidate is a proactive, research-driven recruiter with experience in headhunting for financial services, particularly in quantitative finance. This role requires strong analytical skills, a structured approach to market mapping, and the ability to engage with senior-level professionals.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, source, and engage with high-quality candidates for roles in investment banking, trading, and quantitative finance
  • Conduct proactive headhunting using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and internal databases
  • Develop a robust talent pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of qualified candidates
  • Conduct comprehensive market mapping to identify and track top-tier professionals
  • Deliver structured reports with at least 20 viable candidate profiles per week
  • Provide talent intelligence, helping the business stay ahead of hiring trends
  • Review and update legacy candidate records to maintain an accurate talent pool
  • Ensure all candidate interactions are tracked in ATS/CRM systems
  • Build long-term relationships with top candidates for future placements
  • Assist in headhunting efforts for senior-level searches
  • Conduct initial screening calls to assess suitability for key roles
  • Provide regular recruitment insights to the internal team
  • Deliver weekly and bi-weekly reports on progress, challenges, and candidate insights
  • Meet key performance targets, including volume of sourced profiles and candidate quality

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in headhunting, executive search, or financial services recruitment
  • Ability to conduct detailed research on key financial markets
  • Familiarity with quantitative finance, investment banking, or trading roles
  • Experience using ATS, CRM systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and recruitment databases
  • Ability to engage with senior-level professionals confidently
  • Excellent attention to detail in candidate tracking and market analysis
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while meeting recruitment targets
