They are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of multiple client companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and strategic financial management. This role requires a proactive, analytical, and strategic thinker who can provide actionable financial insights and drive operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be a strategic and analytical finance professional with a commercial mindset. They will have a track record of managing financial operations across multiple client companies, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders. A proactive leader, they will drive financial efficiency, provide high-quality financial advisory services, and support business growth through strategic financial planning.
This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations for a portfolio of companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure adherence to IFRS/UK GAAP and tax regulations
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decision-making
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risks, implementing improvement strategies
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
- Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence and business valuation
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to clients, contributing to financial strategy, KPI monitoring, investor relations, and cash flow optimisation
- Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance
- Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard financial integrity
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency
- Identify and implement best practices to streamline financial workflows
- Supervise junior finance team members and external consultants, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial management, ideally in advisory or investment firms
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proven experience managing multiple client accounts and engaging with senior stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance
- Experience in M&A transactions, financial due diligence, and business valuation is preferred
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial reports to aid in strategic decision-making
- Maintain strong financial controls and compliance across all managed companies
- Ability to improve profitability through efficient cost control and strategic planning
- Ability to optimise cash flow management and working capital efficiency
- Successfully execute M&A transactions with well-managed due diligence and integration plans (preferred but not essential)
