Our client is a fun, trusted and passionate company delivering underfloor heating systems to new build commercial and residential projects of varying sizes. We believe the heartbeat of our company is always the people, whether it is employees, suppliers, or customers. They are looking for a Design Coordinator to join their team.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working within a similar role and be competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel). Full training will be provided on the use of our internal IT/ERP system. A suitable candidate will be confident and have good verbal and written communication skills.
The department is fast paced with strict deadlines to provide designs and information; it is important that the successful candidate is able to prioritize and organise their workload effectively.
This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Mark up drawings and coordinate specification from Pre-Contracts as well as client specification so that it is clearly identified for designers;
- Coordinate with Pre-Contracts, Project Managers etc. to ensure designers have correct and
- complete information;
- Ensure drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality and are easy to decipher in line with British Standards and latest regulations;
- Typical process (but not limited to):
- Obtain necessary design information, marking up floor plans and organising design information sheet for external design team for initial designs and revisions.
- Check over produced designs to ensure they meet with WMS Quality standards, saving and
- organising design folders. Send designs to client for comment and/or approval;
- Ensure designs are identified using a unique reference/revision number and that the approved
- design is clearly indicated;
- Creating ‘As Built’ drawings;
- Liaise closely with Design Manager, flagging any concerns and/or queries. Assist with providing data for monthly Design reporting;
- Keep up to date with latest relevant building legislation and codes of practice relating to design of underfloor heating & cooling systems. Attending webinars and other teaching tools when necessary;
- Ensure designs are submitted and returned within department Key Performance Indicators and
- criteria to exceed expectations of time frames within our Customer Journey;
- Provide pre—order designs and specification submissions for Pre-Contracts when requested;
- Minor revisions as necessary;
- Organise and maintain standard house type folders within client information;
- Compare standard house type drawings to floor plans to ensure no changes have been made.
Skills, Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years working in a similar role preferably within the construction industry and/or B2B;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
- Good numerical and commercial awareness, result driven and focused;
- Strong organisation, time management and planning skills;
- Strong IT and literacy skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
- Ability to develop skills to understand our systems and controls;
- Self-disciplined, presentable, responsible and accountable;
- Ability to work within deadlines and cope under pressure;
- Previous experience of working with AutoCAD or Estimating.
