Business Development Executive

Our UK-based client is a growing business dedicated to providing machinery solutions to companies across various sectors. With a strong focus on building long-term customer relationships, they are committed to connecting clients with the right equipment to meet their operational needs.

They are now seeking a Business Development Executive to join their team. This role is focused on outbound engagement — reaching out to existing customers, identifying opportunities, and qualifying sales leads for the sales team to convert. It’s a great opportunity for a motivated, results-driven individual who thrives on communication and enjoys working in a fast-paced, target-focused environment.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact existing customers via phone, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and email to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company’s CRM system.
  • Qualify prospects by gathering key information:
  • Company owner/decision-maker details
  • Current machinery type and usage
  • Customer’s purchase needs and timeframes
  • Agreed next steps/contact plan
  • Follow up on potential leads and hand over qualified opportunities to the sales team.
  • Consistently meet weekly outreach and lead generation targets.

Targets & Objectives:

  • Reach out to a minimum of 75 decision makers per week.
  • Generate at least 12 qualified sales leads per week.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • A confident communicator with excellent written and spoken English.
  • Results-driven, resilient, and motivated with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Quick thinker who adapts easily to change and challenges.
  • Focused, determined, and able to learn from feedback.
  • A problem-solver with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Additional languages (French or Spanish) would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • No formal qualifications or prior experience required — full training provided.
