Sales Development Representative

Our client is one of the leading fire safety companies in the UK, focusing on ensuring building compliance with industry regulations and protecting occupants’ lives. With a decade of experience, they have developed expertise in designing fire safety solutions to meet today’s complex building regulations. They are looking for a Sales Development Representative who will be responsible for generating leads, booking meetings, and sourcing opportunities for the business development managers. You will create and send proposals to clients, follow up on proposals, and nurture deals to commitment or closure with the support of business development managers. Utilizing SalesForce, Salesloft, and Zoom Info, you will run campaigns to generate leads and seek out opportunities within the existing client portfolio.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilise tools like Hubspot, LinkedIn, Apollo, Dripify, Salesforce, and Salesloft to drive multi-channel prospecting campaigns (calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach) to existing accounts
  • Collaborate with leadership, marketing, and product teams to gather valuable prospect feedback and refine the sales process
  • Ensure accurate CRM management and data hygiene for effective tracking and reporting
  • Assist Business Development Managers in achieving the £12M sales revenue target for 2025
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business
  • Generate leads, book meetings, and identify new business opportunities for Business Development Managers
  • Create and send proposals to clients and follow up to nurture deals towards commitment or closure, with the support of Business Development Managers
  • Run campaigns using Salesforce, Salesloft, and Zoom Info to generate leads and identify opportunities within the existing client base
  • Manage the sales workflow from lead generation to booked meetings or opportunities for existing clients
  • Confirm meetings and follow up on opportunities, sending out quotes and nurturing deals related to small works, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and projects
  • Close deals successfully and handle lost deals while identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Manage renewal opportunities six months out, optimising existing client relationships to identify new opportunities
  • Support business development managers in achieving the annual sales target of £12M for 2025 by building and maintaining strong client relationships to secure repeat business

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sales Development Representative, preferably in facilities management or as a specialist contractor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), Salesforce, and SalesLoft. Familiarity with Qwilr (training available if needed)
  • Strong sales background with a proven track record of success and passion for the company’s vision
  • Expertise in B2B marketing strategies, particularly within the UK market, with a focus on generating leads and identifying new business opportunities
  • Skilled in cross-selling, upselling, managing client renewals, and identifying opportunities from existing contacts
  • Experienced in scheduling client meetings, creating tailored proposals, and supporting business development managers throughout the sales process
  • Strong relationship-building and client management skills to secure repeat business
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable with client interactions via video calls
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage stakeholders and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, continuous improvement attitude
  • Team-oriented, respectful, and willing to go the extra mile with a “can-do” attitude
