Contract Specialist

Description

Our client is currently seeking a diligent professional who can operate independently while, building strong relationships throughout the organisation, but especially with the sales leaders. You will be working for a UK market leader within the furniture solutions industry specialising in the build-to-rent, residential, social, student and retirement living markets. You will need to be a quick learner, be very organised and confident working with internal stakeholders.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage contractual approval process, raise customer numbers, obtain credit checks and submit to shareholders for approval. Once contracts are signed, ensure that invoices are sent out
  • Draft all residential frameworks, contracts, variations, and parent company guarantees
  • Manage the residential payment phasing tracker
  • Organise lessons learned meetings
  • Manage the FFE quarterly Risk Management Tracker
  • Manage the contractual approval process (Obtain credit checks, google searches and complete company onboarding checklists)
  • Issue JCT contracts to our third-party solicitor who produces a risk matrix and review it with the sales teams
  • Review S&H frameworks, contracts, and any supporting documents (NDAs etc.)
  • Draft and update: Referral agreements, Rental agreements, Service Level agreements and Software Licence agreements
  • Draft and update any commercially owned T&Cs such as Website T&Cs and Incentive T&Cs
  • Complete pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Manage and Update the Risk and Issues register
  • Monitor and manage Acuity Law usage (Third-party solicitors)

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Three years experience in a contract drafting/paralegal administration role
  • Team player in a commercial environment working with sales, operations and finance
  • Exposure to the fine details of contracts, with experience of identifying the key commercial risks
  • Well honed commercial judgement on the balance of risk, reward, cost and practicality
  • Good attention to detail and ability to sift out the critical matters
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills and comfortable with Excel
  • Self motivated and well organised approach to work
  • Curious with the initiative to identify issues and propose practical solutions
